Workplace relations is changing yet again!! Workchoices(the Liberal/National Govt workplace laws) have last for a little under two years and will be repealed by the new Labour Govt of Kevin Rudd. There will be no more A.W.As a return to collective bargaining as a chief tool for setting enterprise wages and a return to some form of unfair dismissal regulation. As part of the legislative direction to a Commonwealth workplace relations framework, the Association is positioned as a provider of customised employment and workplace relations services to the industry and affiliatte trades. Indeed the association is uniquely positioned to lead, act and serve the baking industry. The baking Industry Assoc in 2008 is one of Asutralias most enduring and highly regarded association having been in business for over 130 years.
In 2008 our core member service include:
- The provision of a comprehensive range of workplace relations
advice, and award interpretation guides.
- IR/HR 'members only' telephone advisory service.
- Customised training programs and industry specific publications.
- Conciliation and mediation conferencing in employment disputes
and where required cost effective representation in arbitrail
proceedings.
- Development of new services in human resource management,
Occupational Health and Safety, workplace training including
tailored policy manuals, safety audits and liaison with relevant
government agencies including the WorkCover Authority.
